About

Hi,

Thanks for taking the time to check out my site. I want to use this space to tell you a little bit about myself.

I grew up in a small town in Essex, UK, but since 2011 I’ve been living in the sunny seaside city of Cannes, France.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve had a hunger for creativity and the arts. My higher education was in music, but like most creative people, I’ve dabbled in different areas of creativity like art, photography, videography, songwriting and poetry.
I’ve always been fascinated with stories, particularly ones written in rhyme, probably due to my musical background. You can read more about that connection here in one of my blog posts.
The stories that I write are drawn from my experience as a teacher, musician, writer, dreamer, overthinker, traveller and wanderer searching for a place in the world. But, maybe most importantly, a parent.
As a private music and English tutor, I’ve had the privilege of meeting hundreds of individuals, many of whom are children or young adults that sometimes struggle at school and need a more creative approach to learning. Perfecting this innovative method is a life long process, and it’s what I love to do. Lucky me, I’ve built a career on it.
In 2014 my son was born, and that changed everything. The motivation for teaching and educating my son, instead of being a career path, became based on unconditional love and responsibility.
I could feel more than I’ve ever been able to feel. I could love stronger than I ever thought possible. If you’re a parent, you know what I mean.
It was time to put all this into something creative. That’s what started this journey of storytelling.
I write stories, mostly in rhyme, but always with a moral and ethical value on a subject that children sometimes find hard to grasp. My son is my first and most important critic; if he doesn’t like it, it doesn’t make the cut! I have a lot to thank him for.
I hope you enjoy your time on my website. There’s content added regularly, so be sure to sign up for the monthly newsletter.
I always love hearing from readers, so please feel free to contact me using the dedicated page if you’d like to connect.

Thanks for reading.

George
